I remember one
time I and my family had to travel to Atlanta by bus. The bus made
several stops along the way and the trip lasted for several hours. But
no matter how long it takes, I have determined to get to Atlanta.
Another time again we went to a retreat at Birmingham Alabama with
several other members of our church in about eight rented cars but
somewhere along the way we lost track of other members on the highway
and got lost for two days but I have determined to get to the retreat
and finally on the third day of the retreat I got there.
Predestination means
that your destination has already been determined. It is written in the
bible that we are predestined according to God's purpose and will.
"In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel
of his own will" [Eph 1:11]. That means our loving God knows where
you are supposed to be going.
Not
only that, he knows how to get you there. One thing that you have to do as
an individual is to be determined. The road may be smooth or rough to your
destination, but you have to keep on moving a winner never quits the
race.
I told
you about the trip to Alabama's retreat, it wasn't easy because we had no
map or the address of the retreat center and the other people in the car
said we should just go back to New York, but I said no because I have a
purpose for leaving New York and the determination to get to my
destination eventually the Lord gave us a miracle and on the third day we
got to the retreat center.
But
even though you have a determination, purpose and destiny, you cannot get
to it without being connected to the one who gave it to you in the first
place.
If you
don't stay connected to the one who planned your destiny, when trials and
troubles of life come your way, you will lose your focus. As you
determined to get to the top in your spiritual life, marital, academic and
every aspect of your life, you need to be more closer to God.
You
cannot get to your destination without the Lord's guidance. At times,
discouragement may set in as you are heading towards your destination.
But, just stay focus on God. I am talking from experience because when we
were about to start our ministry there were discouragements but we
stay focus on the promises of Christ.
Depend
on the Lord. Stand on his promises. Put all your trust in him. The best is
yet to come to those who believe the promises of God. "In the world
ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world" John 16:33b. He will see you through. I pray that nothing will
draw you away from reaching your goals in this year in Jesus name. May the
Lord God grant you according to your heart's desire and take you to
your destination. You are destined to overcome.
